About HalalScreen

HalalScreen places a short dhikr gate before your most distracting apps. Instead of opening TikTok, Instagram, or YouTube immediately, you complete a round of SubhanAllah, Alhamdulillah, or Allahu Akbar first. Then the app unlocks temporarily.

The idea is simple. You already pick up your phone 96 times a day. What if every single one started with remembrance of Allah?

HalalScreen is not a blocker. It does not shame you or lecture you about screen time. It is an active gate: complete your dhikr, then scroll. The phone opens when your dhikr is done.

33 is the Sunnah count. That is how many repetitions HalalScreen uses by default. Tap to count. Haptic feedback on every remembrance. Feels intentional, not mechanical.

Every other Islamic app reminds you. This one requires you.

How it is built

HalalScreen is a native iOS app built with Swift and SwiftUI. It uses Apple's Screen Time API and Family Controls framework to manage app restrictions on-device. Your dhikr counts, streaks, and settings stay on your phone.

No ads. No tracking inside the app. No selling your data.

Who builds it

HalalScreen is built by a solo Muslim developer. The goal is honest: build the phone relationship you actually want, grounded in dhikr rather than willpower.
